After a string of three wins, the Pontotoc Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 84-68 fall against New Albany. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (64), Pontotoc still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Albany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Shettles, who scored 20 points. The match was Shettles' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dee Johnson, who scored 19 points.
Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for New Albany, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pontotoc will take on Tupelo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Albany, they will be playing at home against Ingomar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Ingomar is ranked 32nd, while New Albany is ranked 26th).
