Kim/Branson lost against Springfield back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kim/Branson Mustangs had to suffer through a 56-26 loss at the hands of the Springfield Longhorns. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kim/Branson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sorrel Mosimann, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Springfield was led to victory by Cobi Mackey and Jersey Speck. Mackey had 31 points along with six assists and six boards, while Speck went 7-for-15 en route to 16 points and five steals. Mackey is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bay Ellis, who earned two points in addition to seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.

Kim/Branson's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Kim/Branson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-38 defeat against Stratton on the 1st.
