After each having a week off, The Kellis Cougars and the Paradise Valley Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 19th. Kellis is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Kellis humbled North Canyon with a 52-8 victory. Kellis pushed the score to 39-0 by the end of the third, a deficit North Canyon had no chance of recovering from.
Kellis can attribute much of their success to Tristan Bacon, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Bacon's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Jason Perez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, even though Westview scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Paradise Valley still came out on top. Paradise Valley strolled past Westview with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. The win was familiar territory for Paradise Valley who now have three in a row.
Paradise Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie LeVinus out in front who threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Elantae Fleming, who picked up 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Kellis to 6-1 and Paradise Valley to 3-4.
Things could have been worse for Kellis, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-21 loss to Paradise Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Kellis, Jaiden Mcdaniel (who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
