Softball Recap: Otsego Wins Going Away Against Sturgis

Otsego never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Sturgis Trojans 11-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cassie Holland was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Holland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Otsego got a massive performance out of Audrey Lingbeek, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Pierce, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Otsego hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sturgis struck out ten times.

The win made it two in a row for Otsego and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Sturgis, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Otsego will head out on the road to face off against Wyoming at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sturgis, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central at 4:00 p.m.
