Southside Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Boush, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Boush hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Evans, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Liberty Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Sterrett led the charge by scoring 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sterrett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakeem Bradford, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Southside Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Liberty Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Southside Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Living Water Christian on January 19th. One thing working in Living Water Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Liberty Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey Research Triangle is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
