There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Hedgesville's sophomore Owie Ash, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Welcome
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Frankfort earned the 25th spot after its strong showing last week. It took its game by a score of 14 - 6. One star in particular for it was junior Nick Marley, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
Can't Touch This
Hedgesville's 45 - 20 win over James Wood last week had a lot to do with the leadership of sophomore Owie Ash. Ash earned four touchdowns and 112 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Ash as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Morgantown (9th in the power rankings) and Linsly (11th) did not disappoint. Morgantown came out on top in a nail-biter against Linsly, sneaking past 31 - 28. Morgantown found its leader in an underclassman: Cameron Rice finished up with 150 yards passing and one rushing touchdown, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Capital (2nd in the power rankings) and Spring Valley (1st). This will be the second home game in a row for Capital. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Friday which team fails to repeat its success.
