The Clarion-Limestone Lions will head out on the road to take on the Karns City Gremlins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarion-Limestone will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Clarion-Limestone not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024 (when they won 16-6). They put the hurt on Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Logan Lutz made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Siwiecki, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Love also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, while it was Karns City who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Moniteau who put up more. The Gremlins fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. Gremlins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Warriors since on Thursday.
Karns City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Clarion-Limestone, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clarion-Limestone has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Karns City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Clarion-Limestone's way against Karns City when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Clarion-Limestone made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
