University had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 10-run drubbing they dealt Timnath on Saturday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kamzee Kern and Kendall Dietz did most of the damage: Kern went 2-for-3 while logging 4 RBIs, 1 double, and 1 run, while Dietz went a perfect 2-for-2 while logging 1 home run, 3 RBIs, and 1 stolen base. The four RBIs were her most since at least August 19th last year, when she brought in four vs. Timnath. Bergen Duarte was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 while posting 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 triple.

University hit smart and finished the game with no strikeouts. They have not posted that few strikeouts since August 21st, when they also struck out zero times.

On Timnath's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emiko Sorenson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 while posting 2 RBIs. Sorenson has been locked in at the plate lately, hitting .450 over her last seven games vs .250 in her first nine games this season.

University has now won 13 of their last 15 games at home. That gives them a 12-5 record this season. The home wins were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Timnath, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, University has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Berthoud at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timnath, they will challenge Greeley Central at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
