The Lincoln East Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln North Star Navigators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln East is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
A well-balanced attack led Lincoln East over Lincoln High in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lincoln East blew Lincoln High out of the water with a 56-0 final score. Given Lincoln East's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Lincoln High is ranked 111th), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
Among those leading the charge was Jeter Worthley, who threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Dash Bauman, who rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-19 victory over Norfolk on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lincoln North Star.
Among those leading the charge was Jordan Anderson, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Lincoln East to 5-2 and Lincoln North Star to 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln East against Lincoln North Star in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 38-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln East since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
