Daniel Boone's Kyle Myers recorded the longest rushing play in Berks Inter-County 1 this season in his game against Twin Valley last week. Myers scampered for 79 yards on the play and finished with 217 on the day as his team bested the Raiders.
Myers was a beast in the backfield as Daniel Boone beat Twin Valley.
Myers was a passing and rushing force as Bill Parks' team topped Steve Gaunt's team. Myers' key target this week was Paul Galanti, who caught 4 passes for 34 yards.
Travis Blankenhorn was the best receiver in the league this week as Pottsville fell to Conrad Weiser. Blankenhorn racked up 6 receptions for 85 yards. John Toomey helped Pottsville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 19 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Crimson Tide's Tyler Moser and Blankenhorn have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Moser has thrown for 772 yards this season, while Blankenhorn has 17 catches for 367 yards. The Scouts' Alex Guilbe leads the league in rushing yards with 794.
The top two teams in Berks Inter-County 1 will face off this week when first place Muhlenberg takes on second place Exeter Township. Muhlenberg fell to Governor Mifflin last week, while Exeter Township beat Reading.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Pottsville and the Blazers face off next week.
Conrad Weiser made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,326 from 1,610. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 29-0 victory over Tom McGeoy's team last week.
