The Garey Vikings and the Montclair Cavaliers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Garey Vikings had to settle for second. Garey lost to Montclair on the road by a decisive 34-16 margin. Garey's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Leading Montclair to victory were Elijah Tehe and Anthony Cervantes. Tehe gained 177 total yards, while Cervantes rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Tehe is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Garey now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Montclair, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Garey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montclair will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Monica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Monica is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
