Basketball Recap: Coastal Brigade Extends Winning Streak to Five

Coastal Brigade extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Beau Brake. Coastal Brigade blew past the Mount Calvary Christian Academy Warriors 67-42 on Saturday thanks in part to Brake, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carson Howell, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, and Jentzen Wade, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Howell has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 15 points, but 1-3 otherwise.

Coastal Brigade's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Coastal Brigade will face off against Gramercy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-8 victory against Fellowship Christian Academy on the 18th.
