The Round Rock Westwood Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Manor. Given Round Rock Westwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Manor is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Demani Stewart, who rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Stewart hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.
Despite the loss, Manor still got an impressive performance from Titus Petteway, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Petteway was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Round Rock Westwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Manor, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Round Rock Westwood will head out on the road to face off against Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Vandegrift knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Round Rock Westwood likes a good challenge. As for Manor, they will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Stony Point at 7:00 p.m.
