With a playoff game on the line, Fort Thomas rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Lobos 51-30. Fort Thomas has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Fort Thomas found their leader in underclassman Jamie Johnson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adaia Lorenzo, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Mogollon can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 53-49 victory over Rock Point.
Mogollon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kindsey Porter out in front who scored 14 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Heidi Parry was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Fort Thomas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. As for Mogollon, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fort Thomas have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mogollon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
