After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Peoria, Lincoln was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Normal University Pioneers. The Railsplitters not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 10-0).
Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Normal University, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Looking ahead, Lincoln will head out on the road to square off against Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tornadoes' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Railsplitters' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Normal University, they will be playing at home against Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
