Millbrook's 20-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Athens Drive on Thursday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Aaliyah Graham, who scored eight points along with four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Bardeen, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Southern Durham's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 48-41 to Northwood. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southern Durham has scored all season.
Millbrook's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Southern Durham, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Millbrook against Southern Durham when the teams last played back in November of 2016 as the team secured a 73-45 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Southern Durham's J-naya Ephraim, who scored 23 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
