Everything went Carrizo Springs' way against Dilley on Friday as Carrizo Springs made off with a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mathan Cruz made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Adrian Moreno was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Phillip Briseno also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton had just enough and edged out Victoria West 7-6 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Marcus Guardiola, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 12 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Carrizo Springs pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasanton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Carrizo Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .544. However, it's not like Pleasanton struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
