After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mater Dei Catholic, The Eastlake Titans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Bonita Vista by a score of 30-17. That's another feather in the cap for Eastlake, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Eastlake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Schmitz, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Schmitz was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Kingston Schaaf also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Bonita Vista still got an impressive performance from Caden Ada-tannehill, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Eastlake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Bonita Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Eastlake is on the road again on Friday and play against Central at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Bonita Vista, they will be playing at home against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
