The Dexter Tigers stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Foxcroft Academy 55-29. Given Dexter's advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Foxcroft Academy is ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Foxcroft Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allie Smith. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season.
The victory (which was Dexter's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. As for Foxcroft Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dexter will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Stearns at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Foxcroft Academy, they will square off against Mount Desert Island at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
