The Carmel Greyhounds will head out to face off against the Roncalli Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Roncalli took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carmel, who comes in off a win.
In Saturday's Canine Competition, Carmel came out on top. They had just enough and edged out Brownsburg 4-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Greyhounds have posted since April 25th.

Carmel got a great performance from Eli Wier as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. Wier also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Greyhounds are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, John Zangrilli was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Carmel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Franklin Central hit Roncalli with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Royals fell 5-2 to the Flashes. The loss continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Flashes: they've now lost four in a row.
Roncalli also got a good showing from Dane Burton, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Burton has allowed since back in April.
At the plate, Collin Ash was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Roeder, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Carmel's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for Roncalli, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
Carmel skirted past Roncalli 9-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Greyhounds repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
