Calvary Christian is 0-9 against Potter's House Christian since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Calvary Christian Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Potter's House Christian Pumas at 7:00 p.m. Calvary Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Potter's House Christian likes a good challenge.
Calvary Christian pushed their score all the way to 67 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Barry County Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (65), Calvary Christian still had to take the loss.
Potter's House Christian won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against Grand River Prep, falling 77-42. While losing is never fun, Potter's House Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while Grand River Prep is ranked 235th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aaron Leedy, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Abram VerWys, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Potter's House Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
Calvary Christian took a serious blow against Potter's House Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 76-37. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Calvary Christian was down 46-21.
