The Holbrook Roadrunners waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over Payson. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Holbrook also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Xavier Brown, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cummings, who scored 12 points.
Holbrook has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Payson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holbrook will take on Winslow at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Payson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m.
