The Flint River Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to take on St. George at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Flint River Academy has now lost ten straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
Last Tuesday, Flint River Academy lost to LaGrange Academy at home by a decisive 42-24 margin. While losing is never fun, Flint River Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while LaGrange Academy is ranked 208th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mylie Meadows, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Jacee Matheny was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. George's didn't have too much trouble with Rock Springs Christian Academy on the road last Thursday as they won 39-23.
Flint River Academy dropped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for St. George's, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Flint River Academy might still be hurting after the 37-12 defeat they got from St. George's when the teams last played back in January. Can Flint River Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
