The Erie Tigers won the last time they faced the Bear Creek Bears, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Erie blew past Bear Creek 53-27. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-10.
Maddie Hartel was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five steals. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. Alexandria Ridenour was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists.
Bear Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Samantha Johnson and Ava Freund. Johnson scored six points, while Freund scored six points.
Erie's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bear Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
Erie will be home for the holidays to greet Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Frederick is ranked 25th, while Erie is ranked 15th). As for Bear Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
