Basketball Recap: St. Johnsbury Academy Falls Short Against Ranked South Burlington

On Tuesday, St. Johnsbury Academy faced South Burlington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Burlington Wolves. The defeat continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Johnsbury Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for South Burlington, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Johnsbury Academy will face off against Essex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Johnsbury Academy is facing Essex at the right time seeing as Essex is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for South Burlington, they will square off against Champlain Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Burlington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Champlain Valley Union likes a good challenge.
