The Hough Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 72-49 loss at the hands of Chambers. Hough has not had much luck with Chambers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Hough's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Desautels, who scored 12 points. John Slusher was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Chambers was led to victory by Jordan Patton and Tarris Bouie. Patton scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Bouie scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Patton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Markus Kerr, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Hough has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Chambers, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Hough will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Mecklenburg at 7:30 p.m. Hough is on a three-game streak of home losses, West Mecklenburg a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Chambers will take on Harding University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chambers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Harding University likes a good challenge.
