1A Special District 4 (8 Man) recap Oct. 3, 2012
Imbler extended the longest winning streak in 1A Special District 4 (8 Man) this week by beating Powder Valley, 74-36. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.
Imbler's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Johnson threw for 164 and three touchdowns and Casey Robertson had 74 yards receiving. On the ground Joe Griffin chipped in 204 yards. Jaden Bales helped Imbler's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
Imbler's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 688 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Robertson has 16 catches for 454 yards. Griffin leads the league in rushing with 814 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wallowa takes on Lee Lowe's team. As it stands, the Cougars are in third, while the Panthers are in first.
Cove led 1A Special District 4 (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 80 points on Pine Eagle.
