Olympic hasn't had much luck against Myers Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Olympic Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Myers Park Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Olympic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Myers Park likes a good challenge.
Olympic will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 32) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over Palisades. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since December 14, 2024.

Olympic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JD Terrell, who posted 16 points along with eight assists and three steals. Terrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Sabb, who went 7 for 9 en route to 19 points and five boards.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Myers Park over Ardrey Kell in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Myers Park blew Ardrey Kell out of the water with a 77-47 final score. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Myers Park's win came from a few key players Olympic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ayo Awosanya, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Bram Early, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and six boards.
Myers Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Myers Park is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Olympic, their record is now 15-5.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Terrell and Early. Terrell has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 12.5 points, 1.3 steals, and 4.3 assists. For his part, Early has averaged 16.3 points, 1.9 steals, and 2.9 assists.
Olympic ended up a good deal behind Myers Park when the teams last played back in January, losing 84-66. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Early, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Now that Olympic knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
