Bushnell-Prairie City had lost 13 straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-22 to make it 14. They fell just short of the Biggsville West Central Heat by a score of 11-10. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Heat since on Friday.
Connor Palm was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Palm was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Dylan King was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Nick Jones was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Todd has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Biggsville West Central: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-14 otherwise.
