The Perry County Central Commodores will take on the Springboro Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Perry County Central has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Perry County Central couldn't beat IC Catholic Prep on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Commodores fell 13-10 to the Knights. The Commodores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
A Ratliff was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of M Fugate, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Springboro gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Choctawhatchee.
Choctawhatchee's batters probably weren't too happy with Riley Lucas, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up five walks).
At the plate, Ava Palcic was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kylene Seibel, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Perry County Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Springboro, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Perry County Central got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Springboro by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Commodores repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
