Briarcrest Christian extended the longest winning streak in Division II AA - West this week by beating Evangelical Christian, 28-27. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Saints.
Briarcrest Christian and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Briarcrest Christian eventually emerging with a 28-27 victory.
Memphis University's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Rodgers threw for 230 and two touchdowns and Devin Perry had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Shane Tucker chipped in 58 yards. Tucker helped Memphis University's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
The Owls' Rodgers and Perry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rodgers has thrown for 1611 yards this season, while Perry, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 25 catches for 436 yards. Christian Brothers's Kurtis Hicks leads the league in rushing yards with 611.
St. Benedict at Auburndale made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,524 from 4,590.
