Even though the Goldwater Bulldogs scored an imposing 69 points on Wednesday, the Agua Fria Owls still came out on top. Agua Fria managed a 75-69 victory over Goldwater. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Agua Fria also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Agua Fria found their leader in underclassman Xavier Daniels, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daniels has scored all season. Jonathan Daniels jr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Agua Fria's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-10. As for Goldwater, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Agua Fria won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Deer Valley will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Goldwater, they will head out on the road to square off against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
