It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Mae Jemison Jaguars can now relate to. They were beaten by Parker 62-14 on Thursday. Mae Jemison was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Parker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Martavius Purnell out in front who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Kentrell Davis did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Parker's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Robert Taylor.
Mae Jemison has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Parker, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Mae Jemison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Parker will take on Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Oxford is ranked 16th, while Parker is ranked 20th).
