With a playoff game on the line, the Emerson Mavericks rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 55-42 victory over the Raiders. Winning may never get old, but Emerson sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
It was another big night for Michael Hawkins, who threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Kameron Lockhart, who gained 85 total yards and three touchdowns.
Emerson's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Rider, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Emerson will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Colleyville Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Colleyville Heritage is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games. Rider does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
