Football Recap: Central Takes Down Vero Beach in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Vero Beach Indians a 33-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Cobras have won 12 matches by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Central's defense and their seven sacks. It was truly a group effort as Tajeyah Chance, Aiyana Grossman, and Kali Daniels picked up two apiece.

The victory (which was Central's 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.6 points on average over those games. As for Vero Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Coming up, Central will take on Jupiter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed six points per game this season, so the Cobras' offense will have their work cut out for them. Vero Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
