It was a good run, but Hayden unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Cordova Blue Devils by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Hayden saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Butler's first of the season. Halie Pavolini was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 19-15. As for Cordova, they moved to 14-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Coming up, Hayden will welcome West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cordova, they will head out on the road to face off against Dora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
