Even though the Perquimans Pirates scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, the Holmes Aces still came out on top. Holmes slipped by Perquimans 63-62. The win was nothing new for Holmes as they're now sitting on three straight.
Holmes' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DiVon Ward, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Ward hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Spears, who scored 18 points.
Holmes now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Perquimans, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes will take on Gates County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perquimans, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
