Atlantic County Institute of Tech fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Bridgeton Bulldogs on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (67), Atlantic County Institute of Tech still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Jameel Purnell, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and 16 rebounds for Bridgeton. The matchup was Purnell's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Martavian Brown, who scored eight points.
Atlantic County Institute of Tech has fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 2-6. As for Bridgeton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic County Institute of Tech's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hammonton at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Bridgeton, they will square off against Atlantic City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
