The Daniel Lions will head out on the road to face off against the West-Oak Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Daniel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
While Daniel's victory against Greer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions skirted past the Yellow Jackets 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won three in a row.
Addy Fraser made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Lucy Maxon was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maria Bowers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Daniel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, West-Oak made easy work of Walhalla two weeks ago and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like Daniel, West-Oak also got a great game from a two-way player: Abi Blackwell. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Blackwell was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, West-Oak got a massive performance out of Cassie Stoltzfus, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Stoltzfus' first of the season. Kylie Perkins was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for West-Oak and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Daniel, their record is now 7-9.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Daniel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like West-Oak struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Daniel beat West-Oak 15-10 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
