The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Falcons lost against the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dighton-Rehoboth Regional was outmatched by Somerset Berkley Regional on the road and fell 76-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dighton-Rehoboth Regional in their matchups with Somerset Berkley Regional: they've now lost four in a row.
Somerset Berkley Regional was led to victory by Finnian Bjork and Brendan Mcdonald. Bjork dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Mcdonald scored 18 points along with eight assists and six steals. The contest was Mcdonald's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Medeiros, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Dighton-Rehoboth Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dighton-Rehoboth Regional will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Oliver Ames at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oliver Ames comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Somerset Berkley Regional will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greater New Bedford RVT at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
