Basketball Recap: Delta Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Delta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 47-43 win over the Richfield Wildcats. The team accrued 32 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Mason Robinson was nothing short of spectacular: he went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cy Droubay, who posted nine points.

Delta was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richfield only racked up six assists.

Richfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Spell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Gage Yardley was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 14 points.

Delta now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Richfield, with the loss, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will face off against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Manti's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Richfield, they will square off against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
