The Sharyland Rattlers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest by a score of 28-17 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Sharyland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Sharyland to victory were Alivia Ames and Mariajose Campos. Ames scored six points along with six steals and three blocks, while Campos scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kayla Valdivia, who scored two points.
Sharyland's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-18. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sharyland will square off against Vela at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sharyland in Texas (Vela is ranked 301st, while Sharyland is ranked 1153rd). As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Rowe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
