Ironton proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the West Deptford Eagles 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Tigers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Ava Bihl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Braegan Thomas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Compliment, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Ironton's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for West Deptford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
