After a string of six wins, the Northwood Gators's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were outmatched by Huntington at home and fell 72-42. While losing is never fun, Northwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).
Carley Hamilton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Huntington, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hamilton hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Kyndal Graham, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Northwood's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11. As for Huntington, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwood will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huntington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
