Twin Valley South is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Fairlawn.
Maci Arndts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adisen Johnson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri-Village strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Preble Shawnee an 18-0 shutout. Considering the Patriots have won 12 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Elizabeth Poling tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emma Greer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Hailey Burk, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Tri-Village was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Tri-Village pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Twin Valley South, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Twin Valley South hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Tri-Village struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
