The Belle Fourche Broncs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Rapid City Christian Comets at 5:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Belle Fourche has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while the Comets will arrive with five straight victories.
On Saturday, Belle Fourche suffered a tough 62-38 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Belle Fourche can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).
Despite their defeat, Belle Fourche saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jet Jensen, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jordan Sandoval, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Rapid City Christian put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Alliance 79-49 on the road.
Belle Fourche has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Rapid City Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Belle Fourche was taken down by the Comets 87-53 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Belle Fourche was down 56-33.
