2A Mountain View recap Oct. 30, 2012
Oakland extended the longest winning streak in 2A Mountain View this week by beating Oakridge, 42-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Riddle/Riddle Education Center took down Glendale 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Oakland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Logan O'hara threw for 130 and two touchdowns and David Henry had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Henry chipped in 218 yards. Ryan Comstock helped Oakland's passing attack out by catching three balls for 43 yards.
Oakland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Oakers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. O'hara has thrown for 692 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Jeb Harper has 15 catches for 268 yards. Henry leads the league in rushing with 653 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Monroe takes on the Warriors. The Dragons are in third place, while Oakridge is in fourth place.
Ben Lane's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,962 from 8,150. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-0 victory over the Warriors last week.
