Even though the Brookwood Panthers scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, the Holt Ironmen still came out on top. Holt snuck past the Panthers with a 67-61 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holt.
Brookwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dayton Dixon, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dixon has scored all season. Joseph Mayo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Holt's win bumped their record up to 4-19. As for Brookwood, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.
Holt will head out on the road to take on the Choctaws at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookwood, they and the Wildcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oakman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Alabama (the Wildcats are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked 348th).
