Meanwhile, Philadelphia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Kemper County by a score of 3-2.
Meridian bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 goals per game. As for Philadelphia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
Meridian took their win against Philadelphia in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meridian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
