Basketball Recap: Salem Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Salem won the last time they faced Vandalia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Salem Wildcats slipped by the Vandalia Vandals 57-56.

Leading Salem to victory were Noah Nix and Ryegan Warren. Nix went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points, while Warren went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Rose, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Salem's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13. As for Vandalia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Salem Wildcats challenge the Breese Central Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Vandalia, they will challenge Hamilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
